Please join us as Greenwave Singers and Fermata perform two choral masterpieces, Schubert's Mass in G and Faure's Messe Basse.  We will also be joined by the full choral department singing Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus.  This concert will be presented as a part of the St. Luke's Concert Series.  The choirs will be accompanied by a string orchestra and will feature Dr. James Lorenz on the pipe organ.  This is an event you won't want to miss!

The Naples Philharmonic Orchestra presents In Remembrance: A Concert to Honor the Victims of the 9/11 Attacks at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts on Sunday, September 11 at 4 p.m.

Led by James Cochran, the Orchestra will be joined by the Philharmonic Center Chorale and Youth Chorale as well as the Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers, led by Jeff Faux. Soprano Michele Byrd, mezzo-soprano Leah Summers, tenor Robert Beane and Douglas Renfroe, bass, will also be featured.

This stirring concert event honors the victims of the 9/11 attacks on the 10th anniversary of that tragic day. The program features Mozart’s brilliant and haunting Requiem, his final composition, and such patriotic favorites as America the Beautiful, Salute to the Armed Forces and My Country ’Tis of Thee. The Philharmonic Youth Chorale will be featured on We Will Stand as Strong Tall Towers, written and dedicated to the memory of the attacks.

The Westminster Choir - Performance and Workshop Late morning - Early afternoon

The Westminster Choir, conducted by Dr. Joe Miller, will be making a stop at Fort Myers High School during their January tour of Florida.  This event is for students only.  Parents interested in attending must contact Mr. Koller in advance.

Information on The Westminster Choir may be obtained at www.rider.edu/wcc. 

Setting the standard for choral excellence for 90 years, the Westminster Choir is composed of students at Westminster Choir College, a division of Rider University’s Westminster College of the Arts, in Princeton, N.J.  It has been the chorus-in-residence for the Spoleto Festival USA since 1977, performing both in concert and as the opera chorus.

The ensemble’s 2010-2011 season includes a concert tour of Florida, performances at its home in Princeton, a broadcast of Westminster’s annual An Evening of Readings and Carols holiday concert and its annual residency at the Spoleto Festival USA.

Its second recording with Maestro Miller, Noël, was released in September.  A collection of French Christmas music and sacred works, the recording also features Westminster alumna Jennifer Larmore, the most recorded mezzo-soprano of our era, and organist Ken Cowan, a member of Westminster’s faculty.  The recording is also the centerpiece of the PRI Radio broadcast Noël – A Christmas from Paris, hosted by Bill McGlaughlin.

The choir’s debut recording with Maestro Miller, Flower of Beauty, received four stars from Choir and Organ magazine and earned critical praise from American Record Guide, which described the Westminster Choir as “the gold standard for academic choirs in America.”

Please join our Choral and Instrumental music departments for a "Concert Under The Stars".  The event will be held outside in the courtyard behind the band and chorus rooms.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

You will be treated to a "Sleigh Ride of Music from Around The World".  Old and new music from Germany, France, Finland, England, and America will be performed.

If it is too cold, the event will be moved inside.
